What’s the Focus of our Curriculum for
Kids and Families?
At Fire Dragon Taekwondo, we have the #1 program for character development
and leadership training for kids and families.
Fire Dragon Taekwondo’s program is vigorously designed in conjunction with
experts in the field of education to provide social, physical, emotional, and attitudinal growth.
Why Taekwondo Instruction Will Benefit Your Child
Fire Dragon Taekwondo’s program works hand in hand with a child’s schoolwork, providing improved self-discipline, self- confidence, mental alertness, and goal-setting skills. At Fire Dragon Taekwondo young people are taught that through dedicated, intense work, all worthwhile goals in life are possible. Parents have attributed our program with improved grades as a direct result of the increased achievement motivation, self-direction, and self-confidence provided by the program.
Goal Setting
It is important for each child to learn to set short-term, intermediate, and long-term goals. At Master Mark Pellerin's Fire Dragon Taekwondo, every child’s goal is the Black Belt, a symbol of excellence in martial arts and an important tool for instructors and parents to use for developing desire, tenacity, and for teaching the importance of follow-through in any activity.
Exam Emphasis On Schoolwork
All young people in the program are required to bring copies of their grades from school, complete parent/teacher intent to promote forms, and complete exam qualification forms prior to testing. All of these support our focus on academic excellence as well as contribute to the family and the community. Master Mark Pellerin's instructors work hand-in-hand with school teachers and parents to ensure a well-balanced and focused development process for each child.
Proper Use of Skills
It is constantly stressed to all students that Taekwondo skills require them never to be abusive or offensive and are only for use defensively.

What results have other families and students, like you, experienced at Fire Dragon Taekwondo?
“I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit
from joining Fire Dragon Taekwondo”
I was looking for an extracurricular activity that we, my husband and I, could do with our children. Something that we could participate in as a family, and not just chauffeur our children to. After the first two intro classes, we were hooked! The sport of Taekwondo is fun, exhilarating and empowering!
After only a few months we noticed greater flexibility, increased strength, and better cardio stamina.
What I didn’t expect were the changes that we have seen in our kids. They have grown more confident, respectful and self-disciplined. (A complete 180-degree change. From being too shy to walk in to school alone to having the courage to stand up for other children being bullied. I actually received two phone calls from other parents to say thank-you)!
Taekwondo has taught us concrete, peaceful solutions to deter bullying, and self-defense techniques that no parent nor child should ever be without. Techniques that are effective and simple enough that our five year old could use them! As a parent I realize that we can’t change the world, the best we can do is bully-proof our kids! Also, we really liked the idea of our daughter holding a black belt before she started dating!
Master Pellerin holds a 7th Dan black belt. His Taekwondo skills are amazing, but more than that he has a one of a kind ability to reach each student. His passion for the martial art is contagious. He is able to teach all skill, age and maturity levels. The classes are exciting and energizing. He uses humor and positive reinforcement to engage the students, and so easily commands and returns respect.
I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit from joining Fire Dragon Taekwondo.
My only regret is not discovering this twenty years ago!
